Early Head Start services promote school readiness by enhancing the social and cognitive development of infants and toddlers by providing educational, health, nutritional, social and other services to enrolled children and families, including developmental screenings. Services for parents include home visits, parenting classes, parent support and networking. Full day/full year center-based or home-based models are available.

Child Care Nutrition Program: seeks to assure all children in licensed child care homes receive adequate and nutritional balanced USDA eligible meals. Provides reimbursement for nutritious snacks and meals served in family day care homes for children 1 month through 12 years of age.

The Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP) is a free preschool program for eligible children 3-5 years old. ECEAP focuses on the well-being of the whole child by providing nutrition, health, education, and family support services. The goal of ECEAP is to help all children enter kindergarten ready to succeed.

Operates more than 30 Head Start/ECEAP/Early Head Start centers in Spokane County. Provides support for families, encourages parent involvement and coordinates child health care and nutrition. Head Start/ECEAP: Offers full- and partial-day preschool programs for children ages 3-pre-kindergarten. Early Head Start: Child development program provided at the center and in-home for families during pregnancy and those with infants and toddlers up to age 3.

The Early Childhood Services at OlyCAP are focused on addressing the needs of families with children age five and younger.  Preschool, early childhood development, child care and family support services are offered at sites throughout Clallam and Jefferson counties.  Children enrolled receive a developmental screening, an individualized learning plan, at least two meals each day and an active learning experience on days they attend the center.  In addition to children services, each family enrolled receives support in accessing medical and dental care for their child, parenting education, home visits and help with finding needed services or resources in the community. Offers an early learning preschool program and an academically enriched school age program. Open year round serving ages 14 months up to age 13 years. Additionally the Tacoma Day preschool is combined with Washington State ECEAP. The preschool program is aligned with Washington State K through 12 WA kids using: Creative Curriculum, Teaching Strategies GOLD assessment and ASQ, a parent driven developmental tool. These tools allow teachers and parents to work together to individualize program for their child. If a preschool child has an IEP the child can be bused to and from their Tacoma School District partial day program and combine with Tacoma Day Preschool for a full day. School children are served by Tacoma Public Schools District 10. are transported to Bryant, Grant, Edna Travis and Impact schools Tacoma Day actively participates in Early Achievers, the quality rating system of Washington State. Breakfast, lunch, and snack are provided at no additional cost and meet CACFP standards. Tacoma Day, a non-profit, has been in business since 1911.

Offers free preschool to low-income families with three to four year old children. Provides children with social, health, nutrition, and education services. Locations in Bonney Lake, Buckley, Eatonville, Orting, South Hill, Sumner and University Place. Spanish speaking programs in South Hill.

Provides a pre-school classroom experience for 4 year old children and prepares them for Kindergarten.
