Early Head Start services promote school readiness by enhancing the social and cognitive development of infants and toddlers by providing educational, health, nutritional, social and other services to enrolled children and families, including developmental screenings. Provides high-quality, affordable, and accessible child care for Seattle families, preparing students for Kindergarten and beyond, with the goal of eliminating the racially disproportionate kindergarten readiness gap. In partnership with the City of Seattle’s Department of Education and Early Learning (DEEL), SPP helps prepare 3 and 4-year-olds for kindergarten and beyond, while offering tuition assistance, family financial assistance, and health screenings. Early learning coaches help SPP teachers provide a culturally responsive, engaging, and nurturing learning environment for all students, and some classrooms offer dual language instruction.

The Champions program serves the community by providing safe, healthy, after-school activities in the Liberty Park neighborhood. This program is offered at no financial cost to families, and all kids aged 5-12 are welcome to participate without discrimination. Kids play games, work on homework, or work on personal goals. All program activities are optional.
